Saab Completes A-SMGCS Project in South 韩国
Saab successfully completed the Advanced Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (A-SMGCS) project for Uljin and Muan airport in South 韩国, including placement of multilateration (MLAT) sensors with Automatic Dependent Surveillance – Broadcast (ADS-B) capability. The project is completed by the signing of the site acceptance test protocols.
The introduction of Saab’s A-SMGCS and MLAT sensors with ADS-B capability enhances the surveillance coverage and tracking capabilities of air traffic movements at and near Uljin 空气field and Muan International 空气port. 空气craft and specially equipped vehicle movements will be accurately identified and tracked as the deployed A-SMGCS is able to fuse and correlate surveillance data with flight plan data from a range of available sources, including the Daegu and Incheon Area Control Center. This increases the situational awareness of air traffic movements in all weather conditions.
此外, the system provides a safety net for the airport by alerting air traffic controllers to potentially unsafe airport conditions, such as runway incursions or restriction violations. This enhances the safety, efficiency and sustainability of air traffic control at both of the South 韩国n airports.
